The yard, the Lab and everything that pays out while a run is not happening.
Rarity is set when a Pokemon arrives and never changes on its own. It lifts every stat by the same amount and decides what a fusion pays out.
| Rarity | Stat bonus | Dust from a fusion |
|---|---|---|
| Common | none | none |
| Rare | +3% | 10 |
| Epic | +6% | 30 |
| Awakened | +10% | 90 |
A Pokemon above Common carries a passive. Which one depends on its line and its rarity, so 9 exist and any single Pokemon has one.
| Passive | Line | Rarity | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Well Fed | Care | Rare | Its mood never falls below Content. |
| Steady Heart | Care | Epic | Always in a good mood. It stays Thriving even with no care at all. |
| Beacon | Care | Awakened | While in the yard, every Pokémon earns double affection per pet. |
| Nest Egg | Yield | Rare | While in the yard, eggs hatch 20% sooner. |
| Mentor | Yield | Epic | Passes a quarter of its Spire XP to the lowest-level Pokémon in the Lab. |
| Prospector | Yield | Awakened | Fusions it takes part in pay double dust. |
| Packmate | Journey | Rare | While in the yard, expeditions come home 20% sooner. |
| Forager | Journey | Epic | While in the yard, expeditions are 15% likelier to bring back an egg. |
| Heirloom | Journey | Awakened | Its held item is not used up when it triggers in the Spire. |
Two Pokemon of the same rarity and the same evolution line fuse into one of the next rarity up. The line is what counts, not the stage: a Machop fuses with a Machamp, a Pichu with a Raichu. Level does not matter either. Awakened is the top, so an Awakened cannot fuse further.
The one you keep goes up a rarity, and on its first fusion it is dealt one of the 3 passive lines, which it then climbs with every rarity after. The other one is consumed: it shows as Fused in the Spire's squad picker and cannot be brought back. A locked Pokemon cannot be fused away, so lock the one you mean to keep.
Every fusion pays Dust, set by the rarity it makes (the table under Rarity). A shiny fed into it pays 3x, and a keeper that already carries Prospector pays 2x.
Toys are decoration. They change how the yard looks and nothing else.

Daycare Pokemon gain experience on their own over time, up to level 100. The curve is cubic, the same shape every experience group in the main series uses: the first ten levels are a fraction of the road to 50, and the last ten before it are about half.
What sets the rate, per Pokemon, per hour: a flat 40 to start with, its own affection worth up to +30 (rising fastest at the beginning, so the first affection you give is worth the most), excitement worth +10 to +40 for five minutes after you click it, and mood worth up to 15% of the base either way.
Time away is credited up to 6 hours, so leaving the tab open all night is not the same as playing. A Samsara climb pays experience on top of this, and it is the faster of the two by design: idle raises a Pokemon, climbing raises it quicker.
How fast a Pokemon climbs also depends on the group it belongs to. A slow group needs a quarter more XP for the same level.
| Group | XP needed |
|---|---|
| Fast | 0.8x |
| Normal | 1x |
| Slow | 1.25x |

The camera icon in the top right corner of the yard opens it. You get 5 photos a day, and the day rolls over at 01:00 UTC.
The yard stays where it is. Drag the frame over it and zoom from 1x to 2.8x with the slider or the wheel: what is inside the frame is magnified, and the rest of the yard stays at normal size.
Each day the game picks one Pokemon from your yard as the subject. It is the same one all day, you cannot pick it or reroll it, and only a photo with the subject in it can earn anything.
Film, Treats and the PokéFlute are sold in the Care Store, under Items. Prices are in Kibble.
| Item | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Photo roll | Free | 5 photos a day. |
| Film roll | 300 | 5 photos, loaded once the day's roll is used up. One roll can be bought a day, and up to 5 photos a day can come from stock, so a day is 10 photos at the most. Photos you do not use stay in stock. |
| Treat | 40 | Walks the subject to the middle of the frame, where it waits in profile. Sold one at a time. There are no free ones. |
| PokéFlute | 1,000 | Turns the subject to face the camera. It has to be in the frame already. Bought once, unlimited after that. |
The Treat decides where the subject stands and the PokéFlute decides which way it faces. A photo that is both centred and facing you takes both, the Treat first.
A photo pays the points below, added together.
| Bonus | Points | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| In frame | +1 | The subject is inside the frame. Without it the photo is lost. |
| Centred | +2 | The subject's centre is within 28% of the way from the middle of the frame to its edge. |
| Near the centre | +1 | Within 60% of the way, when not centred. |
| Large | +2 | At the current zoom, the subject is wider than 34% of the frame. |
| Big | +1 | Wider than 22%, when not large. |
| New angle | +1 | A facing it has not shown yet this roll. Three exist: front, left and right. Each counts once. |
| In company | +1 | Another Pokemon is in the frame too. |
| Partly hidden | -1 | Another Pokemon covers more than 15% of the subject. |
| Mission | +5 or +6 | The roll's mission, on the first photo that meets it. |
If another Pokemon covers 60% or more of the subject, the photo is lost: it uses a photo and pays nothing. The frame border turns amber at 35% hidden and red at 60%, and the percentage shows above the frame before you press the shutter.
Each roll carries one mission, drawn the same way as the subject. It pays once, on the first photo that meets it.
| Mission | Bonus | What it asks |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom | +6 | Take a shot at 2x zoom or more. |
| Trio | +6 | Take a shot with the subject and 2 other Pokemon. |
| Centre | +5 | Take a shot with the subject dead centre. |
| Facing | +5 | Take a shot of the subject looking at the camera. Only dealt to players who own the PokéFlute. |
Every point is 1 affection on the subject. One photo pays 13 at most and a day pays 50 at most, counting every photo. Extra Film adds photos and does not raise the 50 a day.
The album keeps one photo per species. It has a slot for every species your Daycare has held, forms it has since evolved out of included, in Pokedex order. A slot with no photo shows a silhouette.
You choose the photo, and its score does not matter. Drag a ribbon onto a photo from today's roll and it is filed in the album wearing that ribbon. If the slot already holds a photo, you are asked twice before it is replaced, and the old one is gone for good.
Drag a ribbon onto a photo that is already in the album to change its ribbon. The photo stays as it is, and nothing is asked.
Seven ribbons, opened by finished rolls. A roll is finished on its 5th photo, so it counts once a day at most, and bought Film cannot speed it up.
